The Group
Founded in 1998, Group Risk Development (GRiD) aims to promote and enhance the status and uptake of corporate
group protection benefits on behalf of its members within
the UK insurance, reinsurance and intermediary markets.
GRiD's membership base is growing fast and now represents virtually all offices currently writing UK Group Risk business
as well as an increasing number of intermediaries working in
the space.
Key activities:
Under the chairmanship of David Cross, Managing Consultant, Watson Wyatt Worldwide, GRiD aims to generate a wider media awareness and understanding of group risk products and their benefits for employers and end users.
With this in mind, in May 2009 GRiD appointed Katharine Moxham, formerly Consulting Director, Health & Risk at Jardine Lloyd Thompson, as its first dedicated spokesperson tasked with providing expert comment on group risk issues across national and trade media.
In addition, GRiD seeks to enhance the industry's standing by providing a collective voice to Government and stakeholder groups and participating in industry wide initiatives such as the new professional qualification in group risk launched jointly with the Chartered Insurance Institute.
